PhpBB is the first forum I ever used on a live site, and is still the forum I am using on one of my sites to this very day. It is easy to install and it's biggest selling point is it is free! I have found it not to be as powerful as some of the other alternatives out there, and have had to mod it heavily in order to make it more functional. More >> |

I found that phpBB had a simple interface, but lacked features that should be considered basic. To do anything decent, you needed to run countless "mods". The mod makers seemed to assume that it was obvious how to install them, and phpBB.com didn't help, either.
If you want free, use Invision, and support them when you can. More >> |
